What is CERT. Techniques of assisted reproduction are among the most widely implanted medical sub-specialities in the world. The CERT is one of the first centres in the Canary Islands and has twelve years' experience in this field.

Diagnostic. In order to be able to arrive at the cause of sterility in the couple, specific tests are carried out in each case on both the man and the woman as fertility depends on many contributory factors.

Therapy. At CERT's laboratories, a number of assisted reproduction techniques are carried out, the aim of which is to obtain embryos to be transferred to the uterus of the mother. These techniques are conventional in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), the freezing and thawing of embryos and the preimplantational genetic diagnosis (PGD).
